This new centre incorporates modern teaching and study facilities that will be central to the delivery of new Degree / Diploma qualifications in Professional Dairy Farm Management providing educational, research and conferencing facilities.

It includes research facilities for the Teagasc Walsh Fellowship for post-graduate students. The facility will assist Teagasc in providing an integrated Teagasc Animal & Grassland, Research, Innovation and knowledge transfer from the other facilities throughout Ireland that will benefit the dairy, beef, sheep and pigs sectors.

The building has been designed to achieve a very good energy performance, with significant attention to the passive design of the fabric and infiltration as well as innovative air conditioning system with air and refrigerant heat recovery systems and low temperature condensing boilers.

The Information technology infrastructure and Audio Visual / conferencing systems are state of the art systems that are designed to provide both national and international conferencing with a solution that integrates the Audio Visual systems in the lecture, conferencing, teaching and break-out spaces with meeting rooms and external participants.

Low energy lighting, daylight harvesting and energy efficient plant are integrated into a building that is nested into the landscape to provide natural daylight and ventilation and taking maximum advantage of the views within a rural setting, to provide a very pleasant work/study environment.
