Ardgillan Secondary School in Dublin was built in 2009 to accommodate only 300 students. Due to a rapid increase in demand for places at the school, NLCE were appointed to provide M & E services for a substantial extension to the school which would accommodate 1000 students and a community centre on completion. An all-weather 3G floodlight sports pitch was developed to allow for out of hour usage and an additional revenue stream for the school. An advanced energy metering system was installed to automatically apportion running costs between this school and community centre. The community centre included offices, meeting rooms, dance studios and a crèche.
