NLCE completed an energy study on the Galway County Hall building which was followed up with a detailed report explaining recommendations based on the findings of the study. It was recommended that Solar Panels be incorporated into the design to reduce the electrical load. It was also recommended that the oil burner boiler which was 12 years old at the time be replaced by a Natural Gas burner and would return significant savings. Other recommendations included replacing circulation pumps and reducing the speed of pumps.
